Abstract
The new local composition model for excess Gibbs energy [1] is modifie d for associating mixtures. The applicability of the model to the calc ulation of isothermal and isobaric vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE), so lid-liquid equilibrium (SLE), excess enthalpy and excess heat capacity data has been checked on a series of binary 1-alkanol-n-alkane system s. The obtained results show the superiority of te proposed model over previous proposals (the NRTL, NRTLm, Wilson, UNIQUAC) with the same n umber of adjustable parameters. Some recommendation about the use of t he model to the global thermodynamic description of associating mixtur es have been made.
