Abstract
The effect of alloying with copper (3 wt%) on the regularities of corr osion behavior of behavior of passive Al-2Li alloy in 0.5 M NaCl solut ion is studies. Alloying is found to produce a negative effect on corr osion resistance under these conditions. Cathodic reactions of oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution are shown to play a significant role in the corrosion resistance of the copper-containing alloy.
