Abstract
14X17H2, 12X18H10T, and 08X18H12B steels were subjected to corrosion t ests in an eutectic melt of lithium, potassium, and sodium carbonates at 600 to 800 degrees C under a CO2 atmosphere. Oxide film is mainly f ormed by iron and chromium oxides that interact with the melt and form compounds of the types LiFe2O2 and LiFe5O8, in which iron is partiall y substituted by chromium. The steel surface under the oxide film also changes.
