Abstract
Cyanex 301 [bis(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)dithiophosphinic acid] has been proposed as a selective reagent for the extractive spectrophotometric determination of copper. The molar absorptivity of Cu(II)-Cyanex 301 c omplex in toluene is 1.41X10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1) at 440 nm. The method has been applied for the determination of copper in pharmaceutical fo rmulations, human hair and foodstuffs.
