In this paper the effect of the inclusion of two different thermotropi
c liquid crystal polymers (TLCP) on the processing of a polyetherimide
(ULTEM 1000) is studied. The rheological behaviour of the two blends
at different percentages of TLCP is related to the morphological struc
ture developed during the extrusion in a capillary rheometer. The flow
behaviour of the blends is discussed taking into account the viscosit
y ratio between the two components and the deformation of the second p
hase.
