Abstract
The pharmacokinetics, protein binding and dosage regimen of sulphadime thoxine were investigated in buffalo calves following a single intrave nous dose of 100 mg/kg. The distribution of half-life. (t1/2 alpha), e limination half-life (t(1/2) beta) and Vd were 0.13+/-0.02 hr, 32.4+/- 2.91 hr and 2.28+/-0.33 L. kg(-1) respectively. Total body clearance w hich represents the sum of all clearance processes and tissue/plasma ( T/P) ratio were calculated to be 52.3+/-10.4 ml. kg(-1). hr(1) and 6.0 8+/-0.01 respectively. Sulphadimethoxine binding with plasma proteins was to the extent of 74.5+/-1.53%.
