Abstract
The thermodynamic principle of the metal refining by Chinese continuou s crystallisator is clearly. But its micromechanism has not been repor ted in the literature. That is the reason why we undertook an investig ation of this important and interesting topic. The results show that t his metal refining has a peculiar micromechanism compared with other o ld process of Tractional crystallisation from the melt, for instance, Pattinson process: continuous multistage zone-refining. Therefore the Chinese continuous crystallisator is macroscopically a mechanized vers ion of the old well-known Pattinson process, but microscopically a con tinuous multistage zone-refining apparatus.
