Abstract
This paper reviews the current status of the various segments of the C anadian powder metallurgy industry: production of ferrous and non-ferr ous powders, parts manufacturing and specialty products and processes. Since the last review published in 1992, the production capacity of t he metal powder producers has been increased significantly, thus posit ioning Canada as one of the leading countries for the manufacturing of iron, steel and nickel powders. There have also been significant adva nces in powder metallurgy parts manufacturing over the last four years . The industry is supported by active R & D programs conducted in the various sectors of the industry as well as in universities and governm ent agencies.
