Morphology of an aluminized and chromoaluminized steel surface was inv
estigated before and after its interaction with carbonate melt Li2CO3-
K2CO3 at 650 degrees C-under a CO2 + 0.5O(2) atmosphere for 20-1000 h.
The phase composition of the coating, its variation with layer thickn
ess, and the depth distribution of the coating and substrate component
s were determined. Local corrosion of the coating during its depositio
n and insignificant diffusion of aluminum in the steel surface under t
he coating were reported.
