Abstract
We have investigated the fabrication of in-plane aligned, a-axis orien ted YBa2Cu3O7-x/LaSrGaO4/YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO/LSGO/YBCO) heteroepitaxial trilayers on an LSGO (100) substrate by pulsed laser deposition. An LS GO insulating barrier and top YBCO layer were grown on the ion-beam et ched, in-plane aligned, a-axis oriented YBCO bottom layer patterns. Su perconductor-insulator-superconductor edge-like planar sandwich-type j unctions using these a-axis oriented YBCO/LSGO/YBCO trilayers had a su perconducting transition temperature of 84 K and revealed flux-flow ty pe I-V characteristics with an I(c)R(n) product of 20 mV at 50 K.
