Abstract
Synthesis of 2,2'-disubstitued 6,6'-diphenyl-4,4-bipyrimidines (bpm) a nd their reactivity towards oxidation and bromination is investigated. Preparation of a pentadentate ligand by a template reaction from 2-br omomethyl-4,4'-bipyrimidine unit is reported.
