S. Sleijfer et al., SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT ON AN OUTPATIENT BASIS OF A PATIENT WITH DOWNS-SYNDROME AND DISSEMINATED TESTICULAR SEMINOMA, Netherlands journal of medicine, 48(3), 1996, pp. 89-91
Due to a high incidence of undescended testicles, patients with Down's
syndrome have an increased risk of testicular cancer. The treatment o
f these patients with the successful cisplatin-containing regimens, wh
ich are however toxic and require hospitalization, can cause several p
roblems. We present a patient with Down's syndrome suffering from a di
sseminated seminomatous tumour of the testis who has been successfully
treated with combination chemotherapy on an out-patient basis.
