A. Nagler et al., TOTAL LEUKODERMA - A RARE MANIFESTATION OF CUTANEOUS CHRONIC GRAFT-VERSUS-HOST DISEASE, British journal of dermatology, 134(4), 1996, pp. 780-783
We describe a 14-year-old boy who developed total leucoderma during th
e course of chronic graft-versus-host disease, which developed after a
llogeneic bone marrow transplantation. Skin biopsy and dihydroxy-pheny
lalanine staining revealed a total absence of melanocytes from the epi
dermis. Cytotoxic anti-melanocyte antibodies were found in the patient
's serum, and this probably explains the development of the leucoderma
.
