Abstract
Treatment of pentafluoroacetophenone with fluorinated phenylhydrazine in polyphosphoric acid (PPA) afforded new 2-pentafluorophenyl-5/6-fluo roindoles. These 2-pentafluorophenyl-5/6-fluoroindoles on treatment wi th various electrophiles yielded potential biologically active S-subst ituted compounds. New compounds have been characterized by their analy tical and spectral (IR, PMR, F-19 NMR and Mass) data.
