Abstract
Embelin (I) was condensed with 4-methyl-7-coumarinyloxyacetic acid hyd razide (II) in abs ethanol to give hydroxy-3-[(4-methyl-2-oxo-1-2H-1-b enzopyran-7-yl) oxymethyl]-8-undecyl-6H-4, 1,2-benzoxadiazin-6-one. (I II). which on further condesetion with aromatic primary amines, acid h ydrazides and orthophenylenediamines gave Schiff's bases (IV) and oxad iazinophenazines (V).
