Abstract
Oxygen permeation through solid polymer membranes is measured electroc hemically by detecting the reduction current of the permeated oxygen o n a carbon electrode. This method is especially effective for the meas urement of facilitated oxygen transport through polymer membranes cont aining oxygen-specific fixed carriers, such as cobaltporphyrins, becau se of its high sensitivity to low permeated or downstream oxygen press ure and because it is an equal pressure process suitable for the measu rement of brittle membranes with high contents of carrier molecule.
