The heavy minerals associations in the Trin alluvial deposits do not e
stabish a direct relationship between the Bourbonnais Formation and th
e Trin alluvial deposits, which more closely resemble the alluvial dep
osits of the old terraces of the R. Yonne in this region. The discover
y of zircons from Mont-Dore, by the typology, assigns the alluvium in
the upper terrace at Trin between Upper Pliocene and Lower Pleistocene
in age.
