By using an 28 MeV/u O-18 beam, an on-line molten lead target equipmen
t, and 4 pi Delta E(beta)-gamma coincident technique, the relative cro
ss-section ratios and approximate absolute cross section for the neutr
on-rich nuclides Hg-205-208 have been measured; the probable existence
of Hg-209 is observed and its production cross section is extrapolate
d, The cross section of Hg-Z07 produced by -2p + 1n reaction from the
target nucleus depresses suddenly, which may be explained by the varia
tion of reaction Q value.
