Abstract
Mullite is one of the most widely used compounds in many industrial pr oducts. It has been shown that addition of zirconia to mullite improve s its mechanical properties, particularly at high temperature. Some in vestigations have been attempted to explain the fracture toughening of this material. In this paper, the Mechanical properties of mullite-zi rconia composite have been determined from room temperature trp to 140 0 degrees C. The thermomechanical behaviour of this material is sensit ive to the phase transformation of zirconia. The obtained results are presented and discussed.
