Abstract
In this paper, on the basis of the principles of the preferential hydr ation interaction, proceeded from thermodynamics, the retention model of protein on the high performance hydrophobic interaction chromatogra phy (HPHIC or HIC) has been deduced. The relation among the model para meters established has caused the experimental laws observed in the pa st to have a theoretical bases to follow, and in the light of the abov e - mentioned models, some important chromatographic characteristics o f some proteins on the hydrophobic interaction chromatography have bee n expounded.
