Abstract
The structure of [AU(C4H5NS)(2)]CF3SO3 displays essentially linear cat ionic gold(I) units [C11-Au-C21 175.8 (7)degrees]. These linear cation s are aggregated through alternating Au Au interactions [3.1926 (11) a nd 3.4830 (10) Angstrom] to form chains of Au atoms parallel to the c axis.
