3,4-Diphenylpyrrole-2,5-dicarboxylic acid crystallizes as the acetic a
cid disolvate, C18H13NO4.2CH(3)CO(2)H, and exhibits extensive hydrogen
bonding involving the carboxylic acid functional groups, the amine gr
oup and the acetic acid moieties. The phenyl rings were found to lie a
t an angle of nearly 50 degrees with respect to the planar pyrrole rin
g.
