Abstract
The structure of diethyl (1-hydroxy-2-butynyl)phosphonate, C8H15O4P, e xhibits nearly tetrahedral geometry around the P atom, in addition to intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonding between the hydroxy group and the double-bonded phosphoryl O atom (O-H ... O=P).
