Abstract
The title compound, C30H26O2, has a conformation in which one of the c yclopropanecarbonyl moieties bisects the plane of the cyclopropene rin g. The bulky 1,2,3-triphenylcyclopropenyl substituent in the alpha-pos ition of the beta-diketone excludes the possibility of any enolization process. The asymmetry of the single-bond lengths in substituted cycl opropenes, reported previously [Alien (1982), Tetrahedron, 38, 645-655 ], is not observed in the present compound.
