Abstract
Three new pyrrolizidine alkaloids, echilumiline, pycananthine and echi humiline N-oxide, were isolated from Echium humile and their structure s determined by spectroscopic methods. In addition, we record the pres ence of the known alkaloids, 7-senecioylretronecine, 9-senecioylretron ecine, lycopsamine and 7-acetyl-lycopsamine. The tetrahydro-isoquinoli ne alkaloid, carnegine, was reduced for the first time in the Boragina ceae.
