J. Gunter, USE OF GENTAMICIN-CONTAINING POLYMETHYL M ETHACRYLAT-IMPLANTATIONS (SEPTOPAL-10-MINICHAINS(TM)) FOR TREATMENT OF SOFT-TISSUE AND BONE INFECTION IN RABBITS AND GUINEA-PIGS, Praktische Tierarzt, 77(4), 1996, pp. 297
By means of seven exemplary cases the use of gentamicin-containing pol
ymethyl-methacrylat-implantations (Septopal-10-minichains(TM)) for the
treatment of infections of soft tissues and bones in rabbits and guin
ea pigs was tested. It appeared that by this treatment even in refract
ory cases a clinical and baxteriological healing can be obtained. A di
sadvantage of this form of therapy are the very high costs.
