DIAGNOSTIC-APPROACH TO ESSENTIAL VARICOCE LE ADOLESCENTS - A PRELIMINARY EPIDEMIOLOGIC-STUDY

Varicocele is one of the main causes of male infertility. The present report highlights the following: - high frequency of the disease (21%) in prepuberal age; - importance of the ultrasonography examination in the diagnosis and in the postoperatory follow-up of varicocele; - imp ortance of morphologic and functional studies of the genital apparatus inpatients affected by varicocele in order to establish the degree of damage of the reproductive apparatus; - advantage of early surgical t reatment of patients exposed to infertility risk in order to reduce th e progression of gonadal damage.
