NEAR MISSION AND SCIENCE OPERATIONS

The Near-Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) mission will be conducted by The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory using low cos t mission operations technologies. The ground system developed to supp ort operations employs both commercial off-the-shelf components and ef ficient use of existing infrastructure. The science team is working cl osely with mission operations to ensure rapid flexible sequence develo pment and execution.
