Abstract
The effect of silver nitrate and gibberellic acid on C-14-IAA transpor t parameters was investigated in coleoptile segments of Zea mays L. Si lver nitrate and GA(3) enhanced the transport intensity and density wi thout affecting absorption and the velocity. The data has been interpr eted to show that these chemicals may influence abscission by increasi ng the relative hormone concentration at the abscission zone.
