I. Izhar et al., EFFICACY OF PSEUDOMONAS-AERUGINOSA AND BRADYRHIZOBIUM SP, IN THE CONTROL OF ROOT-ROT DISEASE IN CHICKPEA, Pakistan journal of botany, 27(2), 1995, pp. 451-455
Use of growth promoting becterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa, strain Pa-6
and Pa-12 significantly (p < 0.05) reduced the infection of Macrophomi
na phaseolina and Rhizoctonia solani on chickpea. P.aeruginosa strain
Pa-12 was found effective against F.oxysporum and Pa-6 against F.solan
i. Combined use of Bradyrhizobium sp., (TAL 480) and P. aeruginosa sho
wed complete control of R.solani and F.oxysporum infection. Use of bra
dyrhizobia with P.aeruginosa also showed batter control of F.solani in
fection than either used alone. Greater number of nodules per plant we
re produced where bradyrhizobia was used with strains of P. aeruginosa
as compared to bradyrhizobia used alone.
