ACTIVATION OF SELENOGLYCOSIDES BY PHOTOINDUCED ELECTRON-TRANSFER

The activation of selenoglycosides is achieved by photoinduced electro n transfer between aromatic compounds and the phenylselenyl group, whi le cleavage of the C-Se bond of the resulting radical cation generates a glycosyl cation that reacts with various alcohols to give the O-gly cosides.
