Abstract
Catalytic hydrogenation of calix[4]arene [1450 psi H-2 (1 psi = ca. 6. 89 kPa), Raney Ni-(PrOH)-O-i, 240 degrees C] affords the trans-syn-tra ns macrocyclic diether 6b in 15% yield.
