The spectral-domain analysis of a shielded microstrip attenuator is pr
esented. The microstrip attenuator consisting of a microstrip line cov
ered by lossy material is enclosed inside a housing. With the applicat
ion of the SDA immitance method, the attenuation factor was determined
as a function of physical and material parameters. The numerical resu
lts show that the attenuation is most affected with material parameter
