Abstract
The purpose of this communication is to discuss the effect of the mutu al coupling between element arrays on the radiation pattern, and to co mpensate for this effect in introducing them into a power far-field pa ttern synthesis array. The synthesized pattern is an optimum approxima tion to the prescribed power pattern in the minmax sense. A study is r ealized for shaped sectarian and cosecant beams. (C) 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
