T. Mahmood et al., RISPERIDONE APPEARS SAFE IN PATIENTS WITH ANTIPSYCHOTIC-INDUCED BLOODDYSCRASIAS, International clinical psychopharmacology, 11(1), 1996, pp. 53-54
Two cases are reported who developed blood dyscrasias, involving neutr
openia and thrombocytopenia respectively, after treatment with phenoth
iazine and butyrophenone antipsychotics. A subsequent good therapeutic
response was obtained with risperidone. It is suggested that risperid
one may be considered as an alternative when blood dyscrasias occur wi
th classic antipsychotics.
