E. Rubianes et al., UTERINE INVOLUTION TIME AND OVARIAN ACTIVITY IN WEANED AND SUCKLING EWES, Canadian journal of animal science, 76(1), 1996, pp. 153-155
Uterine involution time and ovarian activity were studied in autumn- a
nd spring-lambing ewes. Macroscopic uterine involution was completed e
arlier in autumn-lambing ewes and this can be related with an earlier
resumption of ovarian endocrine activity. The uterus of spring-lambing
ewes reached a smaller size, similar to that found in anestrous ewes.
Weaning immediately after parturition did not affect the time of uter
ine involution.
