This paper discusses a class of fundamentally new fiberoptic processor
s for systems for obtaining, transporting, and processing large masses
of optical data. A matrix-operator description of such systems is pro
posed. A system is described that restores the regularity of the place
ment of the light-conducting fibers in an irregular fiber bundle. It i
s shown that fiber-optic processors and systems open up new possibilit
