Abstract
The compound (Me(2)NMe(2)Si)(3)CH is readily metallated by MeLi in THF to give the linear-polymeric {(Me(2)NMe(2)Si)(3)CLi}(infinity), in wh ich two of the N atoms in each planar carbanionic unit (Me(2)NMe(2)SiC - are attached to one lithium atom and the remaining N atom to another Li atom; each Li shows planar three-coordination.
