Abstract
The first platinum complex of [2.2]paracyclophane-1-yne with a formal triple bond in the two-carbon bridge is prepared and fully characteriz ed by spectroscopic techniques as well as an X-ray crystal structure a nalysis; accordingly, it is best described as a platinacyclopropene.
