Abstract
The trityl and monomethoxytrityl groups are efficiently (80-98% yields ) removed from protected nucleosides or nucleotides by use of 0.10 equ ivalent of Ce(NH4)(2)(NO3)(6) in wet acetonitrile and DMF under neutra l conditions.
