Abstract
All the recent redshift surveys show highly irregular patterns of gala xies on scales of hundreds of megaparsecs such as chains, walls and ce lls. One of the most powerful catalog of galaxies is represented by th e LEDA database that contains more than 36,000 galaxies with redshift. We study the correlation properties of such a sample finding that gal axy distribution shows well defined fractal nature up to R(s) similar to 150h(-1) M pc with fractal dimension D approximate to 2. We test th e consistency of these results versus the incompleteness in the sample .
