We present observational evidence for the existence of ''velocity brid
ges'' between high-velocity clouds (HVCs) and neutral gas at lower vel
ocities towards HVC complex C. The velocity bridges (VBs henceforward)
show up as faint 21-cm line emission filaments (Tg similar or equal t
o 0.2K) connecting the two velocity regimes over velocity gaps of 20 t
o 100 km s(-1). We interpret VBs as indicators of energetic interactio
ns of HVCs with gas in the galactic halo or the disk-halo interface.
