Abstract
Exhaustive desulfurization of overcrowded diaryl-substituted 1,2,3,4,5 -tetrathiastannolanes having a 2,4,6-tris[bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl]ph enyl (Tbt) group on the tin atom resulted in the formation of the corr esponding kinetically stabilized diaryl-stannylenes, the formation of which was confirmed by the characteristic electronic absorptions attri butable to the n-p transitions of stannylene, and by the chemical trap ping by 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene.
