Abstract
Cathodic coupling of ketones with ethoxydimethylvinylsilanes takes pla ce regioselectively at the position beta to ethoxydimethylsilyl group and affords 1-oxa-2-silacyclopentane derivatives as products which are easily transformed to 1,3-diols by oxidative desilylation.
