Abstract
Zeolitised waste material obtained by a partial conversion of coal fly ash into zeolite A or P has been investigated as an agent for the rem oval of copper (II) and zinc (II) from wastewater. The removal of the metal ions vs. time has been studied in a stirred batch reactor in ord er to determine the adsorption mechanism for comparison with the resul ts obtained for coal fly ash and pure zeolite A and P samples. The rem oval capacity has also been determined and from a comparison with the values reported for natural zeolites the zeolites from coal ash presen t andvantages.
