Af. Nikiforov et al., SELF-CONSISTENT HYDROGEN-LIKE MODEL OF MEAN ATOM FOR MATTER OF GIVEN TEMPERATURE AND DENSITY, High temperature, 34(2), 1996, pp. 214-227
A self-consistent hydrogen-like model of mean atom is proposed, in whi
ch hydrogen-like wave functions are used to describe the discrete stat
es of electrons and the quasi-classical approximation for continuum el
ectrons. The model enables one to relatively quickly determine the bas
ic characteristics of plasma for the given temperature and density. Th
e equations of state and photon absorption coefficients are calculated
for aluminum and gold in a wide range of temperature and density.
