Abstract
To compare the performance and use of three massively parallel SIMD co mputers, we implemented a large air pollution model on these computers . Using a realistic large-scale model, we gained detailed insight abou t the performance of the computers involved when used to solve large-s cale scientific problems that involve several types of numerical compu tations. The computers used in our study are the Connection Machines C M-200 and CM-5, and the MasPar MP-2216.
