Abstract
Ochrobactrum anthropi is a nonfermentative gram-negative bacillus that has been isolated with increasing frequency from human clinical speci mens. Previously, its pathogenic niche was believed to involve the cau sation of catheter-associated bacteremic illnesses. We describe three cases of pyogenic infection due to O. anthropi, thereby expanding the known pathogenic potential of this organism.
