B. Singh et V. Saxena, AXISYMMETRICAL VIBRATION OF A CIRCULAR PLATE WITH EXPONENTIAL THICKNESS VARIATION, Journal of sound and vibration, 192(1), 1996, pp. 35-42
The Rayleigh-Ritz method has been used to find the first four frequenc
ies, mode shapes and nodal radii for axisymmetric vibration of a circu
lar plate when the thickness varies exponentially with the radial dist
ance. Results are given for a clamped as well as simply supported boun
dary for various values of the parameter controlling the thickness var
iation. Convergence is ensured by working out a sufficient number of a
pproximations. Comparison has been made with existing results for unif
orm thickness and linearly varying thickness. (C) 1996 Academic Press
