Iv. Abramenko et al., MANNOSE-6-PHOSPHATE BINDING-PROTEIN OF TUMOR-CELLS DETECTED WITH SYNTHETIC OLIGOSACCHARIDE PROBES, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 18(1), 1996, pp. 26-29
Using immunocytochemical methods and synthetic oligosaccharide probes,
there has been studied the presence of mannose-6-phosphate (M6P)-bind
ing molecules on the surface and in the cytoplasm of human hemopoietic
and epithelial cells. There were identified M6P-binding molecules of
human malignant transformed epithelial cells. It is a 395 kD protein w
ith Ca2+-dependent carbohydrate binding segment. The specificity of th
e M6P recognition was demonstrated by inhibition tests in the presence
of excess of low molecular weight ligands. Preliminary data suppose i
ts participation in the intracellular adhesion processes.
